How To 101 Series: How To Survive High School 101 (Freshman Year) #1

This blog post is for all the peeps who are going to start their freshman year this September. Some of you might be excited while some are confused and nervous, well here are some pieces of advice to help you survive your first year.

Making friends are probably one of the crucial parts of high school. As a freshman, it may be hard making friends due to the new environment. So here are some tips

#1 Smile :

Everyone is probably as nervous or scared as you are, so that little smile can do a lot. It will show that you are an approachable person who is very welcoming and friendly. This is especially a good tip for the introverts, since approaching people might not be your thing. At least look approachable

#2 Make small conversations:

Making friends doesn’t mean you click with them right away sometimes it will take time, so small conversation whether it’s about homework, previous school, YouTubers, books, games, etc.

If you saw someone reading a book you’ve read before tell them

“hey I have read that book before, I love the ending”

Just some small convo here and there can eventually help you make friends.

#3 Join in conversation

Although this one may need more courage, it always works. Basically, you just join in when other people are talking. For instance, there are a group of students talking about some famous YouTuber and you know about them too. You can just join in saying “Oh I know that Youtuber too, I watched his/her recent video, it was….”

FRIENDS (4).png

#1 Have a planner/agenda :

It is very important to have some kind planner or agenda as it can help you organise and remind about events, exams, homework and even miscellaneous stuff. Especially if you are a freshman, it will help you avoid embarrassing moments such as homework detentions, wrong dress code and what not. If your school doesn’t provide one it is essential that you buy one. Make high school life so much easier.

#2 Do your HOMEWORK :

Trust me on this one guys, Homeworks are everything, especially for freshman students. Since it’s the first year of high school, the subject contents may not be that heavy so you don’t have to hardcore study. Revising here and there would be enough to pass or even get a good mark and the best way to revise is homework. Homeworks are perfect, as you can go through what you learned in that day or week.

#3 Pay attention :

I know you guys may want to make new friends and lesson time seems like a perfect opportunity. But remember, school’s main purpose is to give you knowledge and education so you gotta listen to the teachers. Moreover, teachers tend to give big hints and tips about the tests and exams. The choice’s yours.

#1 Choose a club or activities you enjoy :

Why I say that? Well, I know people who join certain activities cause their friend joined it and they don’t want to be separated. The thing is that if you join what interests your friend not you, your gonna regret joining it sooner and later. cause it’s not your cup of tea. Anyway, high school is the moment where you find more about yourself so join activities that interest you. Don’t worry about being a loner.

#2 Go to practice/ be active :

If you really want to make most of the high school joining clubs and activities are the way to go, but it doesn’t mean once you join it you get to ditch the practices. Be active participate in competitions and go to practice regularly, you’ll soon get along with your fellow mates and on the long run, you’ll have some great memories to look back.

That is all for today and I know you need more than this to survive high school, so name things that you want advice about down in the comment section ↡↡ and I’ll do a part 2.

Give this post a like, share it with others and don’t forget to comment if you agree.

Summer Reading Plan #summertbr

I recently saw jbooklover a booktuber doing a summer reading plan called the series summer. It seems really fun so I decided to give it go💕💕

Read popular series that you have never read before. (1).png

I have already read the first book, Ruby Red already and loved it to bits. So I need to carry on with the series and finish them. Uhh, cannot wait… All you need to know about these books are that it consists of time travellers and a lot of family secrets 💕💕

Read popular series that you have never read before. (2)

Same goes for this one-I read the first a year ago and since then I haven’t picked the two other sequels up. Hopefully this summer I’ll pick them up cause I want to be the part of hype! I think what really holds me back would probably be a number of pages, the second and the third books are hugemungous. I don’t think this needs a summary 😪😪

Read popular series that you have never read before. (3)

The final book, Always and Forever Lara Jean was released on 2nd May 2017. Though I already finished reading the whole series just a few days ago I am still mentioning it here since my so called “summer” started from June. I am going to do a review for this book very soon so I tell you guys what it is about then💞 💞

Read popular series that you have never read before. (5)

I wanted to read this ever since I have heard about it in the book blogging and book tube world. Both of the books are supposed to be brilliant, action packed books. I cannot wait to read these 💓💓 I just know these books are in the same world as the shadow and bone trilogy, though this focuses on a hyst following 5/6 rebels and thieves.

QUESTION 5Read popular series that you have never read before. (6)

Before you guys kill me for not finishing Harry Potter till now, I have an excuse. Well, I was supposed to finish the series last year but then I had public exams and had to focus there instead so I guess I will do it this year. Uhhh, don’t kill me !! I watched all of the movies though if it makes it any better 💕💕

Read popular series that you have never read before.

I have wanted to read this ever since it was released but Hong Kong being the best book selling place didn’t have it in stock. So this year on my 18th birthday I decided to order off Amazon and well it’s supposed to be on its way. Yay I cannot wait for it to arrive.

Heyyy bookworms, that was it for today I hope you had a great time reading my summer reading plan and if you made one yourself tweet me the pic or comment down your link of the blog posts below ↡↡

If you haven’t made a summer reading plan then I tag you go,go do it !!

Anyway till next time Share, Like and keep reading ya’ll 💖💖

Concentration Camps of Canada ARC RELEASE DATE: 13 JUNE, 2017

Concentration Camps of Canada is a heart-wrenching book about Indian (indigenous people of Canada), it talks about the difficulties and challenges they faced during the past. I received an arc from NetGallery for a review, so here it goes. Btw, this an honest review, I wasn’t given anything for the promotion of the book or whatsoever.

Rating : ★★★★☆

Genre: Historical, Young Adult,

Page: 180 pages

Fav things

ONE: Focuses on a different culture background.

Let’s be honest how often do you see a story where the main character is an Indo-Canadians? Not often aye. This is something that I loved about the book, it talked about a culture that most of the authors don’t usually focus on. To be real honest, I didn’t know much about Indo-Canadians’ and their difficulties and challenges before I read this book.

Two: Shows the struggles of Indo-Canadians during the 1900s

As the book follows an Indo-Canadian boy since his childhood till his death, you can really see the struggles of Indo-Canadians. Such as the partiality in schools, work and in every step of their life. It shows the hardship of the Indo-Canadians in that era.

Three: The character and plot is well written

I really adore the way it followed an ordinary guy whose problems weren’t exaggerated and he had flaws within himself. Which I feel isn’t common especially for the main character, as most of the main characters are almost unflawed in books. I felt like as if the author tried to show as the true picture of the lifestyle and attitude of a typical Indo-Canadian man at that time. Which was something I very much appreciated as the author didn’t sugar coated anything.

RECOMMEND: I personally recommend to every single one of you especially to all the historical and general fictional lovers. As the story talks about the past life of the Indo-Canadians following an ordinary guy. Also, it only contains 180 pages so it is perfect for those who love short/ quick reads.

Of course, this is just some of the points of this book that I personally adore as this is a non-spoiler review cause I want you guys to pick a copy of this book as soon as it is released. So I ain’t gonna to ruin the fun. Anyways I really and I mean really think you guys should read this book, it is just a pleasant read about Indo-Canadians. I need more of this kind of books!

Till next time Share, Love and keep reading.

Parents Abuses Their Own Kids For The Sake Of Internet Fame.

Hey lovely readers, today I am going to do my first opinionated post. This certain video that I was inspired from may not be well known to you guys, as this video is in Hindi. But I am sure you guys have also come across few videos where parents purposely make their child cry and video tape them for entertainment purposes and internet fame.

At first when I came across these kind of videos, I was outraged by the things that were happening in the comment sections. As all of the comments consist of ” She is the kids’ mother, so she can do whatever she wants with her kids” “We also got beating like that and that’s the reason why we are a good person now”

Here are some proofs of people who thought this very video of a mom forcing and slapping her child to read was okay

Hindi words – This is something that happens to everyone and what everyone does to their kids.
Hotah aisa – It happens/ nothing to fuss about

Of course, these weren’t the only comments that were supporting such a horrific act just because they themselves have been through the same thing when they were a child. There were tons and tons of them mostly in Hindi, thus why I didn’t screenshot them and put it in the post.

Another thing that made me more sick was the title of the video which was posted by the page.

Title Translation – Let’s all remember our childhood.

This page’s title clearly states “Funny photo & videos” posted this video. I think I am absolutely right to say that the admin(s) thought the video of the kid being tortured and abused was actually funny. To add on, this page has over 100k likes and more than 150k followers, yet such a popular page decided that this video was appropriate and funny enough to share among people on Facebook. From my personal point of view, I believe such favoured page should least consider the content of video before posting in online and trying to make it viral, moreover the the title was just unacceptable. I strongly feel Facebook itself should take an action to it.

What is more pathetic is the amount of likes in this video. It just shows how empty-minded people really are, they clearly couldn’t see the mother trying to force her small child to study continuously even when the child is saying she feels sick.

More than 16k people thought this video was entertaining and amusing.

Although the main purpose of the post isn’t just to talk about this particular incident, I wanted my reader to see why I was so eager to write about the issue after seeing the video. I wanted to show what exactly were the things that triggered me into thinking that the issue of “How Parents Abuses Their Own Kids For The Sake Of Internet Fame.”

Here are some other footage of similar incidents where children were abuse emotionally for entertainment purposes.

**sorry if you guys don’t understand the language.

Now, focusing on the real deal of this post “Why I feel like this particular action parents/teachers/relatives are wrong?”

First and for most, they are hurting someone for publicity. Yes I am not just talking about/for children, but for everyone and anyone. I just think it’s so wrong  and selfish to put up a show just so they could publicise it and get popularity online, especially if the other one doesn’t know about it. Moreover, those actions are coming from parents. I believe parents’ main objectives are to give their children a happy childhood and help them through difficulty not pressurise them more.

Second, everyone one has privacy, just because they are your own children or that you are older than them does not give you any right to post such sensitive videos. Of course there are the acceptable videos where the children are crying and parents/teachers/relatives are video taping to keep it as a memory.  However, I am talking about the ones where parents/teachers/relatives are deliberately shouting or hitting the children while video taping them. It is just wrong in million of ways.

Last but not the least, children are always frustrating and difficult to handle as they are just developing. However, disciplining them by hitting/shouting/forcing would just cause personality disorders and attitude problems later on. In addition this would also brainwash them into thinking them forcing/hitting/shouting is the way to discipline. Which clearly isn’t.

I believe the only reason people think those methods are the ways to discipling someone, is because they aren’t aware of their mental health. A lot of people still think that the only way to get sick is physically so you should “eat healthy” and “exercise”. They don’t put much importance to their mental health, they don’t know how small things that happens around us emotionally or psychologically affects us and shapes our personality.

Hey readers, I hope you like the post it is a little longer than my usual ones, but I really wanted to put more details and get to the point of what I was writing of. I hope I make sense as I don’t do these types of post.

Please do let me know your thoughts in this issue and if you have seen videos like these before. Also if you disagree which I hope you don’t ahah..but if you unfortunately do please do comment as I would love to understand issues from different perspective.

**PLEASE PLEASE DO SHARE VIA FACEBOOK, TIWTER, TUMBLR// REBLOG THIS IF YOU AGREE WITH MY OPINON ABOVE. I think it is crucial as many people still aren’t aware of it and treat those videos for a entertainment.

That is it for today then till next time Share, Like and Keep reading.

P.S Don’t forget to vote in my poll for a better content.

I have to say this manga just tears your heart apart and leaves it. It’s just so different and unique for a shoujo manga. I read this years ago and yet whenever I come across this manga, I feel like crying. This manga damages you but makes you love it too.

The manga does have a lot of controversial issues though and also I do have to warn to the younger audience as this manga contains mature scenes and themes including drugs, rape, teenage pregnancy, etc.

Number 2| Honey x Honey Drops|

Genre: Romance, School life, Drama, Shoujo, Smut

The up side to being a Honey is that all their school fees will be taken care of.

Although Yuzuru’s family has some financial problems, she doesn’t want to accept her role of being Kai’s honey. But the only way to quit is to leave the school. What is she to do?

Rating: 9.5/10

This is the best manga ever, I swear to god. Every girl needs a man like Mai, sexy and hot yet caring in the bottom of his heart. If you haven’t read this manga yet please please read this, you will not regret it. SO UNDERRATED!
